ABOUT THE WORK
The title Afternoon Prayer speaks to the pause between doing and being. A still moment tucked within the ordinary. A drawing inward. A letting down.
This piece was formed slowly, layer by layer, like breath returning to the body. Wax and pigment move in gentle rhythm. Some forms emerge, others dissolve, as if remembering and releasing at once. A meditation in motion.
Tones of bone, soft silver, and indigo smoke form a field that feels both grounded and weightless, like the hum that lingers after an amen.
Afternoon Prayer invites the laying down of heaviness: pace, pressure, and the need to keep moving. It is not escape, but arrival. Not absence, but presence.
A quiet resting place in the day’s middle.
